Why I Think Hillary Rodham Clinton is the Best Candidate for President |

In truth, I think Barack Obama is a far more likable person than Hillary Rodham Clinton. If I knew both people personally, I dare say I would get along with Obama better. The way I see it, Barack Obama seems the more sincere of the two presidential candidates. With Obama, what you see is what you get. However, though I hate to admit it, I still think Hillary Rodham Clinton would make a better president than Obama. I can imagine the indignation of the fans of Barack Obama on reading that last statement. How could I possibly think Hillary Rodham Clinton would make the better president? Simply put, I think Hillary is the shrewder of the two. She talks in facts rather than ideals. I also think she is strong enough for the demands of the toughest job in the country. I saw Hillary Rodham Clinton’s recent interview with Bill O’Reilly. She held her own with him where others have faltered. In fact O’Reilly, known for his condescending arrogance, behaved like a love struck schoolboy during the interview, so that Clinton had the upper hand most of the time. I don’t much like Hillary Rodham Clinton’s personality. Frankly, I think her Machiavellian. Then again, I don’t think likeability should be a factor when voting. Rather than being a popularity contest, I think the position should be given to the candidate who will do the best job of running the country. I’ve had a look at Hillary’s voting history and policies. Though I don’t admire her character or her shabby treatment of her rivals, I do think most of her policies and opinions show sound judgment. People complain about the way Hillary has treated Obama in the run up to the 2008 elections. They make a fair point; she hasn’t been at all kind. If Hillary was this tough on a fellow Democrat while fighting to get what she wants, imagine how hard she will fight to improve this country as President.
